Semiha Berksoy, Nuri Kuzucan, Elif Uras

'A Collector's Story' shares with art lovers a passion, accumulation, and dedication that has been growing since 1972. Spanning seven major art venues in Istanbul, 'A Collector's Story' continues to evolve uninterruptedly for 52 years and today consists of 2,412 works by 903 artists, making it one of the largest private art collections in Turkey. Without making a selection, all works are presented to the audience.

The Taviloğlu Collection, encompassing a half-century of passion and dedication, offers an essential memory of modern and contemporary Turkish art history. From painting to photography, video, sculpture, installation, and digital works, from masters of Turkish painting to today’s young contemporary artists, the collection provides an extensive overview of Turkish art. In its third decade, the collection began including foreign artists, keeping pace with global art.

In this context, the exhibition holds the distinction of being the first in Turkey to simultaneously share an entire collection with the public. It not only showcases artworks but also reflects Mustafa Taviloğlu's passion for art, his aesthetic tastes, and his journey as a collector, while tracing the cultural and artistic transformation of the country.

The Taviloğlu Collection is presented across seven art venues in Istanbul, organized under four thematic titles, chronologically ordered by acquisition date.
