Nil Yalter, who received the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award at the 60th International Biennale di Venezia this year, is meeting with her audience. In this event, which Yalter will organize together with Eda Berkmen, the curator of the retrospective exhibition “Off the Record” (Arter, 2016) and the editor of the book “Exile is a Hard Job: Walls”, the series “Exile is a Hard Job” exhibited at the Biennale di Venezia will be discussed.
This series, which has been evolving since 1977 and focuses on migrant workers, has been realized with public space interventions in different cities around the world since 2012. The event will also address the production processes of the book of the same name, which forms a comprehensive archive of “Walls.”
The talk, which will also allow space for questions from participants, will also touch on the journey of the work titled “Topak Ev” (1973), which is in the Arter Collection and was exhibited at the 60th International Venice Biennale.
