Bizarre Heaven: Güçlü Öztekin
Galerist hosts Güçlü Öztekin’s –who has participated in many group exhibitions with his paintings, performances and video works up till now– personal exhibition named Bizarre Heaven.
The exhibition consists of 3 different sections that are one within another even though they differentiate in terms of their techniques and the materials that are used. The artworks in the first segment are produced by using shopping bags on the nylon which is used in construction and greenhouse industries. In the second section there are examples of his works which are produced by means of combined techniques such as scraping, tearing, bending, painting, attaching, and folding, a style that we are familiar with from his first exhibition.
Öztekin named his third and last location “intervention” which is originated from the idea of his work place being squeezed and transformed into a new form in an exaggerated way, when taking place in the gallery. The artist created a structure in the location by playing with the quantities (enlarging or aggravating) of the techniques that he applies during painting or working but never puts into practice to produce works or artworks.
You can visit the second personal exhibition of Güçlü Öztekin and see his latest works at Galerist from November 29 – December 29.
